Morgan Jones dies at 84
Character actor appeared in 'The Blue Angels'

Morgan Jones, a character actor in TV and film, died in Tarzana, Calif., on Jan. 13. He was 84.
Jones amassed more than 170 television credits, appearing as a series regular in "The Blue Angels" in the early 1960s and recurring on Broderick Crawford series "Highway Patrol."
The actor also appeared in more than 25 feature films, including "Apache Woman," "Fear Strikes Out," "Bells are Ringing" and "Forbidden Planet." Jones was the second lead in Roger Corman 1957 cult classic "Not of This Earth."
Morgan Adair Jones was born in Wooster, Ohio, and came to California while in the U.S. Navy, stationed on Coronado Island off the coast near San Diego. After his military service, he moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. While studying acting and performing in local theater productions, Jones got his first acting role, in "Singin' in the Rain."
Jones was married twice, losing both wives to cancer. He first married actress Joan Granville, who went on to become a prominent Hollywood talent agent. In the 1970s he married Carole Tetzlaff, daughter of Oscar-nominated cinematographer Ted Tetzlaff.
Jones is survived by a son and a granddaughter.
