Former Hollywood actor Turhan Bey has died. Bey, who worked in the 1940s in several Hollywood movies, including "Arabian nights" and opposite such screen stars like Katherine Hebpurn, John Wayne, Errol Flynn, Boris Karloff, Maria Montez and Peter Lorre died in his native Vienna, Austria on September 30, 2012.
He was cremated on Monday in Vienna. The time for his funeral services was not given.
Bey, who was born in Vienna on March 30, 1922 of a Jewish mother, left his native Austria in 1938 to go to the US. He was discovered by a talent scout from Warner Brothers, while he was attending a lesson to learn to speak English. He made his screen debut with "Footsteps in the Dark" opposite Errol Flynn. He also had a romantic liaison with Hollywood Star Lana Turner.
In 1949 he left Hollywood and went back to Vienna and worked as a photographer, but in the 1990s he had a comeback in Hollywood and also had some guest appearances in such TV-Shows as "Murder, She Wrote" and "Sea Quest".
